The Norwich Bengali Association, founded in 2023 by Bengalis in Norwich and Norfolk, is dedicated to fostering unity, preserving cultural heritage, and warmly welcoming all NRIs who consider Norfolk their home away from home.
We understand the challenges of being away from our roots, and it is our fervent wish to help Probashi Bengalis navigate their journey with ease. By organizing cultural events, workshops, and interactive sessions, we aim to foster a sense of continuity and pride in our cultural heritage, even in a foreign land. We envision the Norwich Bengali Association as a second home, where members can share their stories, dreams, and aspirations without hesitation, while embracing inclusiveness and integrity within the rich multicultural fabric of UK society.
The journey of the Norwich Bengali Association commenced with a joyous celebration of Poila Baisakh, the Bengali New Year, on a delightful Saturday, April 15, 2023. This landmark event marked the beginning of a series of cultural festivities, bringing together Bengalis and enthusiasts alike to partake in the vibrant traditions, delectable cuisine, and mesmerizing performances that define our heritage. The success of this event was a testament to the shared enthusiasm and commitment of our members to nurture a sense of belonging and camaraderie.
The association plans to host a variety of other events in the future, including cultural events, educational events, and social events.Â
The Norwich Bengali Association is a valuable resource for all NRIs living in the Norfolk area. The association provides a way for people to connect with each other, learn about their culture, and get help with the challenges of living in a new country.
